Ruby and Lace

Gaelene hails from the sleepy Central Coast town of Budgewoi NSW, where she grew up under the artistic influence of her mum Robyn. "My favourite childhood memories are of cracker nights at my grandparents farm with all of the extended family and an enormous bonfire with loads of colourful fireworks exploding in the night sky. The amazing sights, sounds and smells created a wonderful sensory overload that has stuck with me since childhood. My love of photography came from spending many hours walking along the beautiful coastline of the central coast and through the many picturesque rain forests. When I was about 8 years old I got my first camera and remember vividly taking many out of focus photos at Taronga Zoo! Unfortunately film and processing was expensive and I had to be very careful about the number of photos I took! I think this is what made me embrace the digital revolution!"
